Could gecko differentiate colors?
I read a paper of “The pupils and optical systems of gecko eyes.” written by Roth, L. S., L. Lundstrom, et al. (2009).
It is interesting:
The nocturnal helmet gecko, Tarentola chazaliae, discriminates colors in dim moonlight when humans are color blind. The sensitivity of the helmet gecko eye has been calculated to be 350 times higher than human cone vision at the color vision threshold. The optics and the large cones of the gecko are important reasons why they can use color vision at low light intensities. Using photorefractometry and an adapted laboratory Hartmann-Shack wavefront sensor of high More >
How to remove pterygium?

How to remove pterygium? When the pterygium is enlarging and encroaches on the pupillary area, it should be rmoved surgically. The small portion of superficial clear cornea(commonly it is the epithelial layer of the cornea) beyond the area of encroachment. Then choose the conjunctival autografts in the lower quadrant of the eyeball. Why we do not choose the conjunctival autografts in the upper quadrant? Because if the patient has potential glaucoma, we could make the filtration from the upper quadrant with no conjunctival scars and get more better effects. Sometimes we could use amnion grafts to substitute the conjunctival autografts More >

Which vitamins are most required for eye?
As we know, there dozens of vitamins we need in daily life activities. But A, D, E, K are the Fat-Soluble Vitamins.
Remember: vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B12 and vitamin C are the most required for eye. Vitamin A is need by cone cells and rod cells in retina to act chemical reactions in order to distinguish the day and night vision. Vitamin B1 and vitamin B12 are need by optic nerve. For most ocular trauma, I always dose these two kinds of vitamins to them. Vitamin C is always used in corneal diseases, More >

How do you prevent glaucoma?
When you find your one side of your eye always feels swelling pain, associated with vision blur, red eye, the same half of your brain pain and rainbow-like when you see light source. Some times vomit and nausea. If you use your second finger to touch your eyeball, it is like a stone hardness, you should immediately go to your ophthalmologist and need urgent treatment. If not, you may lose your visual acuity in hours for the high intraocular pressure. But some kinds of glaucoma, you lose your visual acuity without any feelings. And could never More >
