How can I do cataract surgery without phacoemulsification?

A traumatic cataract, if you didn’t have phacoemulsification instrument, how could you do cataract surgery? Extra Capsular Cataract Extraction(ECCE) or MSICS(Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery)? No, I prefered the lensectomy technique. That is using vitreous cutter to extract cataract. This technique could also deal with the prolapsed vitreous.

In surgery, I found the posterior capsule of the lens was broken, not for surgery, just pre-existed by trauma. So we cut the lens, placed the IOL in the ciliary groove. Fit the artificial lens in the center of the pupil. Because the patient had no retinal detachment, only had vitreous opacity. The next step is to observe. We didn’t perform vitrectomy on him.
