Options for correction of presbyopia
1. Commonly you need a pair of glasses. One is for viewing distance, the other is for viewing near. Fortunately, We got progressive glasses. This type of glasses could help you to see clearly at near and distant.
2. Soft contact lens. Bifocal or multifocal soft contact lens are in clinical trial.
3. Radial sclerotomy
4. Multifocal corneal refractive surgical procedures and monovision made by Lasik or PRK.
5. Single optic accommodating lens implants. Such as 1cu, Crystalens, Tetraflex, AT-45, AT-50
6. Dual optic accommodating lens implants. Such as Sarfarazi, the Synchrony,.
7. Curvature change IOLs. The powervision Fluidvision IOL and Smartlens.
8. Multifocal optic lens implants. Such as Restore, tecnis ZM, Rezoom and so on.
9. CK (conductive keratoplasty )
You have to alert that the glasses are the best safe. Surgery is another good option to you.
Why should wear sunglass when skiing?

Why should wear sunglass when skiing?
If you don’t wear sunglass to protect your eye, you probably got snow blindness. The sunglass do not only provide fashion looking, but also give you the protection from ultraviolet irradiation. Ultraviolet irradiation, even in moderate will cause a painful superficial keratitis that begins 6-12 hours after exposure. So if you like skiing, choose a lovely sunglass or a professional sunglass style to protect your cornea and macula from keratitis and macular age related degeneration.

Contrast Glaretester: CSV-1000 VS. CGT-1000

Contrast Glaretester: CSV-1000 VS. CGT-1000
CSV-1OOOE
The CSV-1OOOE contrast sensitivity chart test face is the most widely used contrast sensitivity test in the world. This test provides for four (4) rows of sine-wave gratings. At the recommended test distance of 8 ft (2.5 meters), these gratings test the spatial frequencies of 3, 6, 12 and 18 cycles/degree. The CSV-1OOOE provides a full contrast sensitivity curve, which is very useful for the evaluation of ocular disease (particularly cataracts, glaucoma, optic neuritis, diabetes and macular degeneration), contact lenses and refractive surgery. For cataract evaluation/documentation, a functional acuity score can be obtained directly from the test scoring sheet.
For those interested in using the CSV-1OOOE in research studies, the test face is available in two versions. The CSV-1OOOE Contrast Sensitivity Chart 1 provides randomized locations for the grating targets.

CGT-1000
CGT-1000 is effectively available for diagnosis before and after the cataract surgery, observing the progress after the surgery of the corneal refractive power correction, relatively examining the contrast sensitivity and glare sensitivity for loss of the visual function.
CGT-1000 has four merits:
1. No need to read the operation manual repeatedly. Immediately you may be an expert operator.
2. Just press the start button. No complicated setting of the targets. The CGT 1000 will automatically perform examinations with presentation of 6 kinds of targets and 12 levels of the contrast thresholds. Buzzer will notice the completion of the examinations. (Refer to the operation procedure)
3. After finish, just press the print button. The examination results will be printed out through the built-in printer.
4. Less patient’s fatigue with short time of examination. Examination time is approximately 2 minutes per eye.
The CGT 1000 was produced by Takagi seiko co. LTD.

How to remove pterygium?

How to remove pterygium?
When the pterygium is enlarging and encroaches on the pupillary area, it should be rmoved surgically. The small portion of superficial clear cornea(commonly it is the epithelial layer of the cornea) beyond the area of encroachment. Then choose the conjunctival autografts in the lower quadrant of the eyeball. Why we do not choose the conjunctival autografts in the upper quadrant? Because if the patient has potential glaucoma, we could make the filtration from the upper quadrant with no conjunctival scars and get more better effects. Sometimes we could use amnion grafts to substitute the conjunctival autografts in order to reduce the risk of recurrent disease. After surgery, you should better cover a soft contact lens to protect the wound and relieve the foreign body sensation caused by the sutures.

This morning, the biggest Bay Bridge(Hangzhou Bay Bridge) catched fire at 9:40 AM. This bridge I have ever been to. It is beautiful when sunny days. But always heavy fog and yellow sea under the bridge. You have to limit your vehicle lower than 100km/h.

What are circle lenses and are they safe?
Circle lens are cosmetics contact lens for beautify and could correct myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia. The diameter of the lens is on average of 14 mm(common iris diameter is 12mm) and the ratio between the optic zone and color zone is different. The color zone is always bigger than the optic zone so that your eyes appear bigger & shinier than others. And there are many color types for you to choose. Common brands are Bescon, Dueba, Geo, Neo and Jonson&Jonson.
Circle contact lenses are common seen in East Asian nations such as South Korea, Japan, and Hong kong and TW. Currently this product could be purchased online in western nations.
Circle contact lenses would not hurt your vision and cornea as long as the ones that properly match your prescription and the right base curve. As those regular contact lenses, they would affect your cornea and tear membrane stability that make you feel dry eye if you wear too long a day. Corneal limbus neovascularization will appear after years later, generally in 3 years. You should not wear contact lens for over ten years. But rigid gas permeable lens are exceptional. Allergic phenomenons are commonly seen.
If you never had contacts before, get someone to show you how to insert, remove, and take care of them. And you might want to start by only wearing for a couple hours or so at first and gradually increase to the whole day.
However, some companies sell circle lenses with bad quality to customers, even some of them without bearing the stamp of approval from health services.
